McKinney Arts, East Village Art Gallery

MCKINNEY ARTS

Welcome to McKinney Arts' revival in 2010, as we enter a new era in the history of this site. Moving forward, we would like to re-establish the archive of the exhibition history of the gallery, which included shows in the mid-1990's by New York artists such as Jean Promutico, Fred Fleisher, Marina Berio, Peter Carey, Sally Lindsay, Jennie Booth, Fernando Joffroy, and many others ...

We will also establish a new virtual gallery, where one can view new works by these same artists, as well as work by other cutting-edge artists from around the country.

Mark McKinney spent 10 years in the New York City art gallery business, first as an employee of Pace/MacGill Gallery followed by Pace Editions, and then opened his own art gallery, named McKinney Arts, which was located on East 11th Street in the East Village (pictured at left). In 2000, Mark moved on to a new career in web design, establishing his own firm, www.fourstorydesign.com. Mark has also merged his web design skills with his interest in art to create a web site called www.artsology.com, which aims to provide kids with a fun introduction to major figures in the arts through free online games and activities. Despite the dedication to these endeavors, the art world still tugs at a slice of Mark's attention, and therefore, McKinney Arts is making a comeback through this site.

At this time, Mark McKinney is exhibiting his paintings at the Glen Ridge Community Center, and the show can be viewed online by clicking here. Please check back in the future as we plan to add more online virtual exhibitions.
